Dec 08 15 The annual meeting of Japan Society of Applied Physics, Kyushu Chapter was held at Ryukyu University in Okinawa. Kishimoto-kun (M1), Nakashima-kun (M1), Takeichi-kun (M2), and Yoshitake (AP) attended, and the students had oral presentations. To our happiness, Takeichi-kun's presentation was selected as a presentation award. There, we were together with Dr. Katamune of Kyushu Institute of technology, who graduated from our lab (DC) in September this year.
Dec 04 15 The 17th Cross Straits Symposium on Energy and Environmental Science and Technology (CSS-EEST17) among Pusan National University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and our university was held in our campus on Dec 2-3, 2015. Baba-kun (M2) and Egiza-san (M2) had oral presentations, and to our happiness, both presentations received presentation awards. 
Nov 25 15 The Green Asia (GA) Program opened a report on internships of GA M2 students. From our lab, Takeichi-kun (M2) had a presentation on an internship held at AIST Kansai for a month from August to September. Dr. Mokuno, who was a chief researcher of AIST and mentor of the internship, joined. In the evening, our lab opened a welcome party at Asahi Beer Garden and a joyful time talking about various matters.
Nov 24 15 Abdelrahman-san (D2) attended the 3rd International Conference on Advanced Electromaterials (ICAE2015) held in Jeju, South Korea on November 17-20, 2015, and had oral and poster presentations there. In the conference, he met Dr. Promros, who was a graduate from DC of our depertment and assistant professor of King Mongkut's Inst. of Tech. Ladkrabang, Thailand. To our happiness, Dr. Promros was promoted from lectuler to assistant professor this month.
 
Oct 19 15 Ishibashi-kun (M2) and Yoshitake (AP) attended the 68th Annual Gaseous Electronics Conference/9th International Conference on Reactive Plasmas/33rd Symposium on Plasma Processing held at Hawaii Convention Center on October 12-16, 2015. Ishibashi-kun had oral and poster presentations, and Yoshitake had an oral presentation there. We had a joyful time in Honolulu.
Sep 09 15 Today Nomoto-kun, who graduated from the MC of our lab and was a doctoral course student of Universiity of New South Well's, visited our lab. We could learn a lot concerning the system and culture of Australian universities.
Sep 25 15 Today, the confirmation ceremony for graduates in September was held. Tarek-kun (M2) and Katamune-kun (D3) graduated from master and doctoral courses, respectively. To our happiness, Tarek-kun received an award from our grad school. Tarek-kun enter the doctoral course of our department and study in Hattori Lab, and Katamune-kun work for Kyushu Institute of Technology located in Kitakyushu as an assistant professor from October 1. We celebrated their graduations.
 
Sep 24 15 Gima-kun (D2), Katamune-kun (D3), and Yoshitake (AP) had poster, oral, and poster&oral presentations in the 76th Autumn Meeting 2015 of the Japan Society of Applied Physics held at Nagoya Congress Center on Sep 13-16. We could enjoy and learn a lot.
Egiza-san (M1) returned after completing an internship at OSG Corporation on Aug 17-Sep 11, 2015. He experienced the development of hard coating in the internship.
Sep 10 15 Tarek-san (M2) and Katamune-kun (D3) are going to graduate from master and doctoral courses this month. Before a confinement ceremony on Sep 25, we went to a beer festival held in Tenjin, instead of a farewell party. We could have a joyful time together.
Aug 28 15 The reports of the internship researches and farewell tea-parties for Uchida-kun and Ishimoto-kun were held on 21 and 28 August, respectively. We are glad that they learned a lot for their future plans.
Aug 17 15 Ishimoto-kun came to our lab as an internship student from Kumamoto National College of Technology today. He will study with iron disilicide group members from today to August 28, 2015.
 Aug 10 15 We opened a meeting and party to celebrate the 70-years-old anniversary of Prof. Miyoshi, a professor emeritus at Kyushu University, at Nishijin Plaza, Kyushu University on August 8, 2015. Approximately 40 persons of graduates and present students got together from all over Japan. We were so delighted to celebrate the 70-years-old of Prof. Miyoshi, and also we spent a joyful time together talking about our recent statuses.
Aug 03 15 The doctor thesis public hearing of Katamune-kun (D3) was held this afternoon. He had a great presentation, and after that discussions were actively made. Since his research was satisfactorily progressed, the period was shortened by a half year.
Jul 26 15 An annual summer school on iron silicides and related materials was held at Kuju Joint Training Center, Oita on July 25-26, 2015. It was cosponsored by Green Asia (GA) Program, Kyushu University and Research and Education Center for Advanced Energy Materials, Devices, and Systems, Kyushu University. Our lab members contributed to the stering of the school as a host organization.
Jul 22 15 Uchida-kun came to our lab as an internship student from Kurume National College of Technology. He will study with iron disilicide group members from today to August 21, 2015.
 
Jul 14 15 Naragino-kun(D3) and Yoshitake(AP) visited Institut NEEL, Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique(CNRS), wherein Gima-kun (D2) is studying from May as an internship student financially supported by Green Asia Program, and joined an workshop on diamond on July 6. The next day, we moved to Nimes, and joined another Fr-Jpn workshop on diamond on July 7-10. We enjoyed giving presentations, having French cuisine and wine, and sightseeing.

Jun 27 15 Last evening, we opened a farewell party for Dr. Promros at a broiled meat restaurant in Tenjin, since he is going to return to Thailand next week. This winter, several persons of our lab will visit his university. We are looking forward to seeing him in Thailand.
Jun 06 15 An annual softball tournament of the department was held today. We easily passed preliminary league and had a seesaw game with Yoon & Miyawaki Lab and finally won in the semi-final. In the final game with Nishida Lab, we were beaten. In the evening, we opened a drinking party at a Izakaya near a campus.
Jun 01 15 Abdelrahman-san (D2) joined the 9th International Conference on New Diamond and Nano Carbon 2015 held in Shizuoka and had a presentation. He seemed to have learned a lot there.
Jun 05 15 Dr. Promros of King Mongkut's Inst. Tech. Ladkrabang, who graduated from DC in our lab three years ago, came to our lab as a visiting researcher. In addition, today Dr. Ohmagari of AIST visited our lab to have a meeting concerning a collaborative research on diamond.
May 09 15 An annual open campus was held today, and we opened our booth concerning our researches at the third floor of our building. In the evening, several members joined a Belgian beer festival held in Fukuoka Tenjin, and enjoyed drinking a various kinds of beers. Mr. Chen-san, who is a graduate from our lab and enrolled in Hayashi Lab of our department as a doctor course student, happened to joined together. We could talk a lot.
 
 Apr 13 15 This evening we opened a welcome party at Asahi Beer Garden located in Hakata. We enjoyed drinking fresh beers and meals.
Apr 08 15 This morning an entrance ceremony was held, and 2 new students entered the master course. They come from Kumamoto National College of Technology and Shimane University.
 
Mar 25 15 Today, the university held a conferment ceremony, and conferred on Sakai-kun the title of doctor endearing degree and on Asai-kun and Takahara-kun the tile of master engineering degree. At the conferment ceremony of a grad school, Asai-kun received the certificate of the degree directly from a dean as the representative of our department. At the conferment ceremony of the department, it is an honor for us that Asai-kun and Takahara-kun received the department awards that were given to the top 4 students of the department.

After the conferment ceremony, we opened a celebration dinner party for the graduates, together with Honjo Lab. I am so delighted that they performed their researches very well and grew extremely reliable persons. I wish that they enjoy every success in their new responsibilities.
Mar 24 15 Yesterday, we went to Ohshima Island in Munakata as an annual lab trip before the end of the year. I was fine day, and we could enjoy going around beautiful places. In the evening, after arriving at Kono-minato, we dropped by a spa with a natural hot spring and took. After that, we went to a sea-food restaurant and had a joyful time having delicious see foods.
Mar 21 15 Last evening, our lab opened a send-off party for the retirement of Prof. Takeda of Fukuoka Institute of Technology. We have progressed researches on Fe-Si system spintronics together since the early stage of the research. Prof. Takeda got his doctor degree from Kyushu University on its research. We deeply appreciate his contribution and spending a joyful time together.
Mar 18 15 This afternoon, the mid-reports of doctral researches was held in the department, and Katamune-kun, Naragino-kun, and Yoshida-kun gave presentations successfully. 
Mar 04 15 Yoshitake attended the 20th Hasselt Diamond Workshop held on Feb 25-27, 2015 and had an oral preservation. In this workshop, attendances are friendly with each other and presentations were highly sophisticated. In addition to the workshop, we could enjoy drinking beers and delicious sweets. I do want to come also next year.
Feb 03 15 The doctor thesis public hearing of Saga-ken was held this afternoon. Since his research was made actively and favorably, the period was shortened by a half year. He gave an sophisticated presentation and after that discussions were actively made.
Jan 30 15 It was the last day of the internship of -ken. He gave a great presentation on his internship research results in front of lab members. His research was conducted under the direction of Narrating-kun (D2) and Tominaga-san (RA).
Jan 26 15 Dr. Sausan, who graduated from DC last year, came from Univ. of Tech. in Oman (GUTech) to our lab as a visiting researcher for a month (Jan 20-Feb 20). In addition, Harasaki-kun, who is an internship student from Kurume National College of Technology, is completing his 3-months internship at the end of this month, and Dr. K. Hanada, who works for Res. Center for Synchrotron Light Appl., Kyushu Univ., is going to move to Saga University as a postdoctoral researcher. So, we opened a welcome&farewell party in our lab and spent a joyful time together.
