Dec 27 17 Dr. Ohmagari, who graduated from our lab and works for AIST, dropped by our lab on the way to his parent's home. We celebrated that he passed an interview for becoming a parmanent researcher of AIST.
Dec 22 17 We opened the end-year party of our lab at Asahi Beer Garden located in Hakata. We enjoyed talking, eating, and drinking.
 Dec 05 16 On Dec 3-4 an annual Japan Society of Applied Physics Kyushu Chapter meeting/The 1st Asian Applied Physics Conference were opened in Tsushima island. Kudo-kun(M1). Nishikawa-kun (M1), Nogami-kun (M1), Egiza-san (D1), and Abdelrahman-san (D3) had presentations. For all members, visiting Tsushima island was the first time, and we really recognize that Tsushima Island is located on the border with South Korea. We went together with Dr. Worakarn Neeyakorn and Dr. Pichanan Teesetsopon. Dr. Pichanan Teesetsopon gave an invited talk on dye-sensitized solar cells at the 1st Asian Applied Physics Conference.

Nov 30 16 An international workshop was held in Chikushi campus by Research and Education Center for Advanced Energy Materials, Devices, and Systems, Kyushu University today. Our laboratory invited Dr. Worakarn Neeyakorn and Dr. Pichanan Teesetsopon of Department of Physics, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, Thailand. Dr. Worakarn Neeyakorn, who is a vice-heat of the department, gave a invited talk in the workshop. We could discuss colabotation researches.
Nov 07 17 Kishimoto-kun (M2), Nakashima-kun (M2), and Takeichi-kun (D1) attended the 8th Semiconductor Forum held in Kumamoto on November 5. To our happines, .Nakashima-kun received a poster award.
 
Oct 10 16 Egiza-san (D1), Takeichi-kun (D1), and Yoshitake (AP) attended Pasific Rim Meeting on Electrochemical and Solid-State Science (PRiME 2016)/230th ECS Meeting held in Honolulu on October 2-7, 2016. Egiza-san and Takeichi-kun had great presentations in oral. We had a relax time in Honolulu and charged energy.
Sep 29 16 Ali-san and Islam-san came from Egypt to join the master course of Green Asia Program. Ali-san and Islam-san are assistant lecturers of Al-Azhar University and Aswan University, respectively, and they came to Japan to get doctor degrees. Egiza-san is also a assistant lecturer of Kafrelsheikh University, and he successively study in our laboratory after the graduation from the master course this month. All students are going to return to their university and restart works as lecturers after getting doctor degrees.
Sep 26 16 Today, a commencement ceremony was held. Egiza-san got master's degrees. To our happiness, Egiza-san received IGSES Dean's Award that were given to the top student of the department.
Sep 16 16 Yoshitake attended JSAP Autumn Meeting held in Tokimesse, Niigata on September 13-16, 2016. Concerning a presentation on the temperature dependent interlayer coupling in Fe3Si/FeSi2 artificial lattices, Dr. Hanashima of Cross Tokai gave the presentation, instead of Yoshitake.

Aug 22 16 Iseri-kun, who is a student of Kumamoto College, starts his internship on semiconducting iron disilicides together with Kishimo-kun (M2) and Nogami-kun (M1) for two weeks from today to September 3, 2016. On the other hand, Gima-kun stars his internship at OSG Corporation for two weeks from today to September 3, 2016.
Jul 26 16 Since it was the last day for Dr. Promros and his three students today, we opened a send-off party in our lab. In the party, we deepened a friendship with each other, and celebrated the completion of APAC Silicide 2016 and victory in the job hunting of Kishimoto-kun (M2) and Nakashima-kun (M2). The party was held in two section: the former is a dry party and the latter is a wet party with alcohols remained in the banquet of APAC Silicide 2016.
 
Jul 19 16 Asia-Pacific Conference on Semiconducting Silicides and Related Materials Science and Technology Towards Sustainable Electronics (APAC Silicide 2016) was held at Nishijin Plaza, Kyushu University on July 16-18, 2016. Our laboratory contributed to the steering of the conference as a host. Kudo-kun (M1) and Yoshitake (AP) had oral presentations, and Nogami-kun (M1) and Kudo-kun (M1) had poster presentations. We worked so hard together from the preparation before the conference until the close.

Jun 30 16 Dr. Nathaporn Promros, who a graduate from our lab and at present an assistant professor of King Mongkut's Inst. of Techn. Ladkrabang, Thailand, comes to our lab to do experiments for a month, together with his three students, Teakchaicam-kun, Duangrawa-san, and Onsee-kun. They will make researches on semiconducting iron disilicides, financially supported by JICA AUN/SEED-Net Research and Mobility Programs (2016-2017).
  
Jun 09 16 On June 4-8, Takeichi-kun (D1) and Yoshitake (AP) took neutron reflectivity spectra measurements to study interlayer coupling in Fe3Si/FeSi2 superlattices at beamline 17 (Sharaku) of J-PARC located at Tokai-mura, Ibaragi. Although the measurements were irregularly carried out at all hours, all the measurements were kindly supported by beamline staffs, Dr. Miyata and Dr. Hanashima. We deeply appriciate their kind technical support, direction, and valuable advices.

 
      On May 12-13, Takeichi-kun (D1) and Yoshitake (AP) visited AIST Kansai located in Osaka, and deposited nanocrystalline diamond films under negative biases using a specialied coaxial arc plasma deposition apparatus. The experiment was totally supported by Dr. Chayahara and Dr. Ohmagari.
 
Apr 08 16 This evening, we opened a welcome party at Asahi Beer Garden located in Hakata. We enjoyed drinking fresh beers and meals.
  
Apr 07 16 Three master and one doctoral students newly added to our lab members. The MC students cames from Kumamoto National College of Technology, Fukuoka University, and Kobe University. The DC student entered from the MC of the same lab.
  
Mar 25 16 Today, a commencement ceremony was held. Ishibashi-kun, Baba-kun, and Takeichi-kun got master's degrees, and Yoshida-kun and Naragino-kun got doctor degrees. At the commencement ceremony of a department, Baba-kun received received department awards that were given to the top 4 students of the department. After the ceremony, we opened a celebration dinner party for the graduates, together with Honjo Lab.
 
Mar 24 16 On 24, lab members, who were not busily occupied, got together and went to Yobuko for an annual lab trip. Since we were so busy this year, the trip was in a single day. We had raw squids for lunch. After that, we went around the ruin of Nagoya Castle and took a hot spring in Iroha Island. Finally, on the way to an university, we dropped by Kakigoya located in Itoshima and enjoyed having raw oysters for dinner there.
Mar 04 16 The application of a collaboration research between Dr. Promros's lab of King Mongkut's Inst. of Techn. Ladkrabang and our lab was accepted by JICA AUN/SEED-Net (Collaborative Research Program for Alumni Members for Japanese Fiscal Year 2016). In 2016 and 2017, we will have the collaboration research on semiconducting iron disilicides. Dr. Promrios and his students is going to come to Kyushu University to do experiments in July, 2016.
Feb 19 16 Yestrday and the day before yesterday, the master thesis defense of a department was held. Takeichi-kun, Ishibashi-kun, and Baba-kun had presentations on thier master thesis researches, greatly. Takeichi-kun in going to successively enter the doctor course of our department. Ishibashi-kun and Baba-kun will work for Mitsubishi Electric Co. Ltd. and Honda Motor Co. Ltd. from this April. This evening, our department opened a celebration party annually.
Feb 12 16 The doctor thesis defense of Naragino-kun (D3) was held this morning. He gave a sophisticated presentation on his doctor thesis research for three years. He is going to work for Department of Chemistry, Yamaguchi University as an assistant professor from April 1, 2016.
Feb 05 16 Today, the doctor thesis defense of Yoshida-kun (D3) was held and he gave a great presentation on his research carried out in his master and doctor courses. He will receive the doctor degree of engineering officially next month. Owing to his much effort, the doctor course period was shorten by half year. He is going to work for Fukuoka Industrial Technology Center as a researcher from April 1, 2016.
Jan 28 16 On Jan 27, we opened a new year party near a campus in the evening, instead of an end-year party. We spent a joyful time having beers and delicious meals.
